Employed in the Metropolitan Police Special Branch in London, David Solomon was drafted into service in the RUC in 1986, where he eventually enlisted long-term and met Thomas Lang, then a military intelligence officer. The two formed a close and lasting friendshp during their nine months of partnership, during which time Solomon had “taken three lives and saved dozens more, including [Lang’s].” In a nutshell, Solomon is an agent at the employ of the British government, and he does what needs to be done. He is extremely proficient in weaponry, bureaucratic game-playing and political machinations. He never goes anywhere without his brown raincoat.

Solomon is a likeable guy, well educated and polite, pleasant and affable, if a bit precise in his language and word choice. He calls everyone, especially Lang, “sir” or “master,” with the exceptions of his actual superiors. He is very intelligent, quite capable of doing anything if there is a need for it (up to and including murder), and is quietly loyal to his comrades and his nation. He often knows a great deal more than he lets on. People tend to underestimate him, often to their own downfall.
